Demetrius Navarro is an actor, writer and director as well as the CEO of D Street Films.[1][2]

His first professional acting job was for Luis Valdez’s theater company, El Teatro Campesino.[3] Navarro made his film debut in Friday. He then played lead roles in 187, opposite Samuel L. Jackson, Soldier Boyz, The Yard Sale[4] and Runaways. He spent 11 seasons on ER as Morales,[2] while, at the same time, starring on Telemundo’s sitcom Los Beltran.

He has also had guest starring roles on The O.C., CSI Miami, and NYPD Blue.

Writer and Director

Navarro has written and directed four movies: American Lowrider, Anything is Possible,[5][6][7]American Justice (which he co-write with Jerry Bryant and Tommy Lister),[8] and Gone Hollywood.

Biography

Acclaimed actor Demetrius Navarro made his film debut in 1994 in the comedy "Floundering." The following year, he snagged a role in the popular Ice Cube comedy "Friday," and made his television debut in "Walker, Texas Ranger." After a string of guest spots on television series that include "Moesha," "Malibu Shores," and "JAG," Navarro landed a recurring role as paramedic Morales on the long-running Chicago set hospital drama "ER." His work on the show would earn him an ALMA Award nod. In 2000, he became a series regular on the sitcom "Los Beltrán." Despite the show's short-run, it earned much acclaim including an ALMA Award for Outstanding Spanish Language Comedy Series. In 2004, Navarro began producing his own works, the first of which was the thriller "The Last Letter" in which he co-starred. The following year, "Short Fuse" was produced from a script Navarro had penned, and four years later he made his directorial debut with "The Fish." After "ER" wrapped, Navarro dove into his own work

Jackson, Soldier Boyz, and The Yardsale. Soon he was dividing his time with the multi-Emmy Award winning series ER for 11 seasons and Telemundo's top rated sitcom Los Beltran. This made him the only Latino on two number one shows, at the same time, each in a different language. He has been nominated for an ALMA Award for Best Supporting Actor and has a SAG Award for Outstanding Performance By An Ensemble In A Drama Series - ER. He has taken his extensive experience and segued his career into Producing and Directing. Films include, A Dog & Pony Show, staring Mae Whitman, Ralph Macchio, and Golden Globe & OSCAR Winner Mira Sorvino. His latest film, Ticket To Nashville, stars country legend Lee Greenwood, Kate Orsini, and Kevin Sizemore, this project earned him Broadway Worlds Best Director Award and the film is set for theatrical release.
