Hands-on Service: Fixing supper for families at Ronald McDonald House
Seven Rotarians fixed the evening meal on Oct. 24 for families staying at the Ronald McDonald House near CoxSouth Hospital.
The two Ronald McDonald Houses in Springfield provide a home-away-from-home, hope and comfort for families of seriously ill and injured children receiving medical treatment.

Fellowship Lunches
Springfield Southeast Rotary Fellowship Lunches were held at five locations on Oct. 25. Each site provided lunch and a program associated with its business or mission.

Dr. Pina was born and raised in Moreno Valley, CA. She studied Biology with a minor in Religion at Baylor University in Waco, TX. She completed medical school at Touro University Nevada College of Osteopathic Medicine in Henderson, Nevada, followed by pediatric residency and a chief year at Loma Linda. She then transitioned to a full-time attending role as core faculty for the primary care track, with leadership roles as director of advocacy and quality improvement. She is also the medical director of DIME: Diversify, Include, Mentor, and Educate for LLUCH and has a passion for learners, diversity, and inclusivity for all. She is currently the residency track director for the primary care residency track and an associate program director for the categorical pediatric residency program. She and her husband have a blended family, three children, and a ten-year-old Pitbull mix rescue. In her free time, she loves traveling, doing Tae Kwon DO with her two boys, and watching 90-day fiancé and all the spin-offs.

RESPONSE TO SBS NEWS REPORT
In 1995, when the then Fr O’Kelly was Headmaster of St Ignatius’ College (he became a Bishop in 2009), he was informed about a specific allegation against Mr Steve Hamra. He responded to the matter immediately and appropriately. The matter was reported to both the Department of Family and Community Services (FACS) and the Police who investigated the matter. An open and transparent meeting was held with the former student and his parents and a copy of the meeting notes were sent to the family.
The teacher was stood down while the authorities investigated the matter. When they decided that no charges were to be laid, he was reinstated. No further complaints were made against the teacher while Bishop O’Kelly was headmaster.
When Bishop O’Kelly dealt with this matter in 1995, the Church’s Towards Healing protocols had not yet been implemented. At that time, processes for handling such allegations were not what they are today and there was not the benefit of the lessons learned f
