Let’s get to know each other better. My name is Giorgos Lorantakis . I am a composer, musician, producer, multi-instrumentalist and audio production professional.
I was born in a place with a very deep history associated with grace and art… Place where democracy first appeared… Where the bright minds of bygone eras live on the lips of contemporaries, like their creations – nowadays! And as you might have guessed – this is Greece, my hometown – Athens.
Just like each of us has our own character – music has it’s own. Especially high-end trailer music and it is one of the toughest things for a composer to produce. You can say that trailer music is deceptively simple with relatively uncomplicated harmony and melodies. But to keep it fresh and modern, every composer needs to find ways to use basic musical building blocks in a way that isn’t cliched or dated. John Everett Beal (born January 20, 1947) is an American composer and conductor known for his work in the American film industry. He has conducted for major recording artists ranging from Olivia Newton-John to Deadmau5, movies in concert such as Star Wars, Toy Story, Home Alone, Rocketman and the Harry Potter series, is the principal conductor of the Hollywood Symphony Orchestra,[1][2] is considered by the New York Times as the pioneer of original scores for film trailer music,[3] and has composed the music for numerous television series and films.[4]
Early life
John Beal was born in Santa Monica, California, raised in La Cañada Flintridge, California, and graduated from John Muir High School (Pasadena, California), where he was honored for having written many of the drum cadences for the school's internationally renowned Drum Corps, many of which are still used more than 50 years after his graduation. I showed a great passion for music when I was a child and started composing music very early on. So a few years later, in 1989, I began to compose music for some groups of the Commodore Amiga demo scene. That was a great stage of my life, during that period I won several music contests and learnt a lot about making music for a specific project, working with other people, and to get the job done in a hurry due to deadlines.
In 1996 I completed my first video game work, composing music for the video game Cyber Police (Balance Group/Dinamic Multimedia). And two years later I received an offer from Pyro Studios to compose the music of the multi-million seller Commandos: Beyond the Call of Duty. I thought that opportunity was too good to be true and without hesitation I moved to Madrid to join Pyro Studios. After Commandos: Beyond the Call of Duty, I started working on Commandos 2 where I worked not just making the music and sounds for the game but also leading the production department.
