Gujarat HC grants bail to former MP Dinu Solanki in RTI activist's murder

AHMEDABAD: The Gujarat high court on Thursday granted conditional bail to former BJP MP from Junagadh, Dinu Bogha Solanki, who has been sentenced to life imprisonment along with six others in the RTI activist Amit Jethava murder case.
While suspending Solanki’s sentence, the bench of Justice Paresh Upadhyay and Justice AC Joshi said that the case was based on circumstantial evidence and the CBIcourt’s decision to convict Solanki is 'prima facie erroneous' and that it is 'based on assumptions and presumptions'.The high court also opined that the chain of incidents in the prosecution’s theory do not complete. The high court ordered Solanki to be released forthwith on his furnishing Rs 1 lakh bond and equal amount of surety. Solanki has been asked to deposit his passport with the court.

Born in Mango

Famous at home and abroad

The mangoes of Gujarat are justly famous both within India from there the fruit originates historically and around the world. The state is home to both unique wonders, such as the famed ‘Walking Mango Tree’ of Sanjan Village which has reportedly travelled over 200 meters in the past two centuries, and the daily cultivation of tens of thousands of hectares of its own renowned Gir Kesar mango cultivars. These orange-pulped fruits are said to be one of the most popular mango varieties globally.

Among Gujarat’s many mango farms, the Rajmoti Farm of Dinubhai Solanki in the Kodinar region stands proud as a source of sustainably and passionately grown fruit.

Efficiency means sustainability

Dinubhai Solanki has been growing mangoes for six years but he was, in his words, “born in mango.” He’s now combining this family-derived love of farming with a commitment to using new technologies and good agricultural practices across his 20 hectares. Harvesting over 11 tonnes per hectare every single production cycle, Dinubhai’s mangoes are not on
