Verity Helen FirthAM (born 28 August 1973) is an Australian university executive and former politician. She is the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Social Justice and Inclusion) at the University of Technology Sydney.[1] She was the chief executive officer of the Public Education Foundation in Australia.
Firth served as a member of the New South WalesLegislative Assembly representing the electorate of Balmain for the Labor Party from 2007[2] to 2011. During this period, she served as Minister for Women, Minister for Science and Medical Research, and Minister Assisting the Minister for Health (Cancer) from 2007 to 2008, Minister for Climate Change and the Environment in 2008, and as the Minister for Education and Training from 2008 to 2011.

Verity was born in London and showed an interest and aptitude for performing arts at an early age, attending Dance and Music classes; her first large stage audience was at age four. She was signed by an agent who saw her at Drama and Singing classes when she was five.
Her stage credits include the powerful adaptation of 1984 (Robert Icke, Duncan MacMillan) appearing as The Child, and the Opera Madam Butterfly where she appeared to great acclaim as Sorrow (Directed by Paul Higgins). TV, Radio and Film roles include Greg Davies's Man Down (Channel 4 TV) as Dan's niece Lucy. BBC's The Cazalet Chronicles, in the role of Juliet, by Elizabeth Jane Howard (Radio 4 adaptation), the short film Lacrimosa (Steven Bakewell), the music video Rhythm Inside for Loic Nottet (Belgium Eurovision), as the Rebel Child. As well as working across Pantomime, Musical Theatre, Dance and Modelling.

Verity Drew Firth is a child actress, presenter, singer, dancer, model and young filmmaker.
Acting
Verity started her performing career at age four when she delighted in her first appearance on stage to a large audience. As well as working in Theatre, (West End and Musical Theatre), Radio and TV, Verity has appeared in a number of Films and Music Videos. She studies Drama, Singing and Dance, as well as learning Piano, Guitar and Drums.

Verity's first radio drama was the BBC's Cazalet Chronicles as Juliet, she played Dan's (Greg Davies) niece Lucy in ManDown (Channel 4), and was The Child in the powerful stage adaptation of 1984 at The Playhouse Theatre (Robert Icke/Duncan Macmillan) in London's West End, and the Opera Madam Butterfly (directed by Paul Higgins).
