Noel Edmonds has provoked fury after he suggested that a cancer sufferer’s ill health was all down to his “negative attitude”.

The Deal Or No Deal presenter tweeted out his praise of the EMPpad machine, which apparently stimulates “cellular resonance” in the body.

He wrote: “A simple box that slows ageing, reduces pain, lifts depression and stress and tackles cancer. Yep tackles cancer!”

However, Edmonds seemed to take offence at Twitter user @VaunEarl, whose Twitter biography states he has kidney cancer, lymph node metastases and psoriatic arthritis.

@VaunEarl wrote: "This sort of quackery should be illegal if it isn’t already,” adding: “I think Noel Edmonds should stick to what he’s good at. Presenting quiz shows and beard trimming, rather than curing cancer.”

Edmonds fired back: "Scientific fact-disease is caused by negative energy. Is it possible your ill health is caused by your negative attitude? #explore”.

His comments caused a storm on Twitter, with people wasting no time in attac

Noel Edmonds 'cancer box' claim dismissed by firm

A company that produces an electromagnetic pulse machine has dismissed claims from entertainer Noel Edmonds that it "tackles cancer".

EMP Pad said it did not agree with comments he made on Twitter, external "in any way, shape or form".

The Deal Or No Deal presenter said it was "a simple box that slows ageing, reduces pain... and tackles cancer".

In response to one cancer patient's comments, he suggested the disease was caused by "negative attitude".

Earlier the Advertising Standards Authority said it was "urgently looking into" a complaint made over the claims but it has since said no rules were broken.

The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency said it was investigating the products available from EMP Pad "to determine whether there are any breaches of the Medical Device Regulations 2002".
