Jon Scieszka
Having raised two children and taught elementary school, Jon Scieszka knows what makes kids laugh. Growing up, he was one of six brothers who were “just a mad rumble at home.” That’s how he knows what boys are like. Some adults might say that Jon Scieszka’s writing is weird and too sophisticated for children. But with titles like Math Curse and Summer Reading Is Killing Me, Jon Scieszka knows how to connect with tough-to-reach students. He’s used that understanding to launch Guys Read, a “literacy program to help boys become better readers, better students, better guys.”
