Mark Calaway [1], best known as the professional wrestler and WWE Superstar the Undertaker was born in Houston, Texas on 24, March 1965 [2] into the family of his mother and father, Frank and Catherine Calaway and four brothers. Growing up in Houston, he attended Waltrip High School where he played for the school basketball team and graduated in 1983. With his sights set on becoming a pro basketball player in his teenage years, Mark went to Angelina College in Lufkin, Texas on a basketball scholarship. He later went on to attend Texas Wesleyan University in Fort Worth where he studied Sports Management and played in the university basketball team. However, being a Texas native, Mark had grown up watching wrestling on TV and became familiar with the famous Von Erich wrestling family. Mark William Calaway (born March 24, 1965), better known by his ring nameThe Undertaker, is an American retired professional wrestler. Widely regarded as one of the greatest professional wrestlers of all time,[13] Calaway spent the vast majority of his career wrestling for WWE and in 2022 was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.[14]
Calaway began his career in 1987, working under various gimmicks for World Class Championship Wrestling (WCCW) and other affiliate promotions. He signed with World Championship Wrestling (WCW) in 1989 for a brief stint, and then joined the World Wrestling Federation (WWF, now WWE) in 1990.
