Introduction

Popular Tamil singer Srilekha Parthasarathy, better known by her stage name Srilekha, made her professional debut in 2000 with the hit song "Idhayam Oil" with Jothika. With more than 50 songs released to date, she is renowned for her adaptable voice and has found success in a variety of genres, including ghazals.

Due to her South Indian ancestry and upbringing in Delhi, Srilekha is fluent in both North and South Indian languages and music, in addition to Western music. She started her musical career at the age of four when she took first place in the New Delhi-based All India Children's Music Competition.

With the Harris Jayaraj-composed song "Yedho Onru" from the film Laysa Laysa, she made her playback singing debut. Sriram Parthasarathy hails from a family of classical musicians. He is a disciple of Neyveli Santhanagopalan.[1]

Career

Sriram has recorded several singles and released them in the classical genre.

He has regularly collaborated with Ilaiyaraaja[2] and Harris Jayaraj, while also working with other veteran music directors, such as A. R. Rahman, Yuvan Shankar Raja, and Vidyasagar. He has also won awards for his beautiful renditions.
